Who we are
Ditsy Bits is an independent clothing brand, with a focus on creating consciously made garments that you will love for a lifetime.
We are committed to only using natural materials as well as recycled substitutes where possible. Our clothing brand is a community, as well as a place to shop - and we love welcoming you into our world!
Our makers
Step 1: Designing
Our team of three in Ireland, design Ditsy garments with the aim to blend functionality, wearability and style.
When designing, we will always aim to create less rather than more, as we never want to contribute to over consumption, but instead put our own stamp on every day items that you will love again and again.
Step 2: Garment Manufacturing
Choosing the Right Manufacturing Partner for Ditsy Bits
At Ditsy Bits, every piece of clothing we create is thoughtfully designed and carefully crafted with our trusted manufacturing team in China. As our brand began to grow, one of the most important decisions we faced was choosing the right manufacturing partner - not just for production, but for a long-term relationship built on shared values, quality, and transparency.
We spent considerable time sampling with multiple manufacturers across both Europe and China. After much research and testing, we found our current manufacturer - who stood out by a country mile in terms of quality, communication, and alignment with our values.
However selecting a manufacturer wasn’t something we were willing to do from afar. Before beginning any production, we wanted to visit the factory in person. In June 2025, Emilie travelled to China to meet Eric, our main point of contact. This visit went far beyond a typical showroom meeting. Emilie met the entire team including technicians, pattern cutters, finishers, packagers, and many more. Most importantly, we were able to see exactly where and by whom our garments would be made, not just a polished client showroom. This level of transparency was incredibly important to us and gave us full confidence in moving forward.
How We Work Together
Our manufacturing partner truly understands and shares our ethos - something that was essential for us when making our final decision. Alongside this, maintaining consistent, high-quality production (not just during sampling, but throughout bulk manufacturing) was non-negotiable. Our manufacturing team consistently delivers on both.
Our partnership goes far beyond simply producing our designs. They are actively involved throughout the development process, offering technical expertise and guidance at every stage. If they identify something that may not work as intended (such as a design aspect or fabric choice) they collaborate with us to find the best possible solution. This approach helps ensure durability, quality, and longevity in every piece we create.
Since our initial visit, we’ve returned to work with our manufacturing team in person, continuing to build relationships with the people who make our clothing. This human connection is something we deeply value and remain committed to as we grow.
Our manufacturer maintains an up-to-date SMETA audit. A SMETA audit is a globally recognised assessment covering labour standards, health and safety, environmental practices, and business ethics, which ensures responsible and ethical working conditions.
Step 3: Freight Shipping - Getting our stock to us.
We work with our own freight forwarder from an Irish based and owned company. Having this addition to our team made the biggest impact, we have someone solely responsible for shipping and getting our items to us. We have begun to implement sea shipping as an alternative to air freight, in an effort to be as responsible in our freight shipping practices as possible.
Step 4: Garment Printing
Your Ditsy Bits tee is designed and printed in Dublin, Ireland. We work with a local print studio where our well loved graphics come to life on our tees.
Our tees arrive to the print studio, are printed by the fabulous team & are packaged with care ready for you to wear.
We have been working with Matt - who leads the team, for the past two years. Whilst we could get our beloved tees printed in the same manufacturing run as making them, we opted to keep the final stage of production close to home, as Ireland is full of talented and experienced screen printers and that is something we want to support.
Step 5: Getting your Ditsy Bits to you
We work with the wonderful team at 2Flow, who carefully pack and pick your items - and get them shipped out to you.
Working with a warehouse has saved our lives in terms of logistics, returns and shipping. The team ensure the highest quality of care with packaging and shipping, and have tripled the speed we can get your order out you compared to if we were to do it ourselves.
Fabrics
Choosing the fabrics for any garment is one of the most important steps of creating an item of clothing.
We work exclusively with natural fibres at the moment - such as using 100% cotton for our baby tees and striped knit, and crafting our Claddagh Knitwear & Pants from a blend of 70% cotton & 30% fine merino wool.
Natural fabrics are biodegradable, meaning they break down at the end of their life time, whilst simultaneously lasting longer and repairing better when needed. They are also kinder to your skin, allowing breathability - and not further irritating sensitive skin.
Our fabrics are at the centre of each piece, and design is centred around it. We want to ensure longevity, comfort and minimal impact.
Sourcing
Our fabrics are sourced fairly and ethically, and have traceability from picking, to production to final product.
All our cotton is sourced from Brazil, in a conscious effort to avoid the Xinjiang region as it does not align with Ditsy Bits' values. Obtaining certs for our cotton was our priority, as in clothing manufacturing Xinjiang cotton is common place - but we knew it would never be for us.
Our cotton is BCI certified, which means it is produced under the "Better Cotton Initiative" - a world leading sustainability programme for cotton. This promotes sustainable farming, reduced water usage, documentation of the full supply chain, and adhering to environmental and social standards. You can read more about the Better Cotton Initiative HERE, and you can view our certs below.
